The market for EV batteries is shifting quickly away from Lead-acid recently to favor Lithium-ion Phosphate. These batteries have higher energy storage without the dreaded “memory effects” of NiCad. That higher energy density allows for a battery that smaller in size and lighter in weight; they have a longer shelf life and a faster recharge time. They are environmentally friendly in composition (no heavy metals) and result in reduced lifetime energy costs due to no maintenance and increased charge cycles.
